My ‘some songs I like’ Spotify playlists have been a staple in my life since the beginning of 2017. Every month, I add every song that I’m loving, old or new, to a playlist, and at the end of the month, I add all the songs to a big annual playlist of songs I love.
2018 was no different. In fact, 2018 had more songs in it than 2017. That surprised me, considering my Spotify top 100 had tons of songs in I’d only listened to a couple of times, because I spent most of the year listening to Abba’s ‘Waterloo’ on repeat.
Don’t get me wrong, there were hundreds of songs this year that I really liked. I just somehow didn’t keep listening to them all year, instead preferring to stick to my core playlist of 30-or-so songs for most of the year.
Bad Katie. Listen to more in 2019.
Because of that, I picked out my top 10 favourite songs from this year, in no particular order.
- Getting Over You by LAUV
- Somethings Gotta Give by Camila Cabello
- If You’re Over Me by years and years
- DANCE by DNCE
- Sam by Jessie Ware
- Hair Too Long by The Vamps
- At Seventeen by Janis Ian
- Paradise by George Ezra
- Back To You by Selena Gomez
And finally, of course…
10. Waterloo by Abba
